Mr. Bahl is Vice President and Principal. He is responsible for top-down investment research, fixed income portfolio management, trading, and client service.
Prior to joining Bahl & Gaynor, Mr. Bahl was Managing Director and Head of High Yield Credit Trading for Goldman Sachs in New York. As a “player-coach”, he was responsible for trading the healthcare, energy and retail sectors along with managing the team of traders. Responsibilities included market- making for bonds and credit derivatives, extensive direct client engagement, risk management, recruiting, training and performance evaluation. During his tenure, he built a Team that significantly expanded direct client relationships, volumes, liquidity and returns. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2008 as Vice President and was promoted to Managing Director in 2009. In 2011, he was formally named Head of High Yield Trading.
Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Bahl was Vice President in the High Yield Trading Department for Bank of America in New York from 2005 to 2007. His responsibilities included the risk management and market-making for split-rated corporations and leveraged buy-out situations.
Prior to Bank of America, Mr. Bahl was an Investment Grade Credit Trader and Debt Capital Markets Investment Banker for Lehman Brothers in New York. He joined the Investment Grade Trading Desk in 2004 and was responsible for corporate bond market-making in the retail and consumer sectors. His investment banking focus was on fixed income capital raising and capital structure optimization for the telecom, technology and utility industries.
